Write to the editors

The editors read every message sent through the form on this page or by email to info@streetfoodvietnam.com. Here is what to write to us about, what a useful correction looks like, and what we cannot help with.

How to reach us

Use the form on this page, or email info@streetfoodvietnam.com. Both reach the same editors. There is no phone line; replies come by email to the address you give.

Choose a subject in the form so that your message goes to the right place: a correction to a page, a question about a page, an advertising enquiry, or something else. The extra fields, which ask for the city, the page and when you ate there, are optional but help us check a report quickly.

Corrections: the messages we value most

Street food prices and stall hours change faster than any guide can track, and readers who have just eaten in a city are often the first to notice. A useful correction answers four questions:

  1. Which page, and which sentence or table row?
  2. What did you find instead? For a price: the dish, the amount you paid, and whether that was at a street stall, a market or a sit-down eatery.
  3. Where and when? The city, the street or market, and the date.
  4. How do you know? First-hand experience, a posted price board, or a link to a newspaper or official source.

A photo of a price board is useful if you have one, but please do not send photos of people without their permission. We do not publish your name or your message; a correction you send is credited to "a reader" unless you ask otherwise.

Questions about a page

If something on a page is unclear, or you cannot find what you need, ask. Questions show us where a page is failing: if several readers ask the same thing, the page needs rewriting, and we will do that. Questions that the guide does not yet answer, such as a dish we have not covered, are how new sections start.

We cannot recommend particular stalls or restaurants, by email or on the site. We can usually tell you which kind of place sells a dish, at what time of day, and what it should cost.

Advertising enquiries

Advertising spaces on the site are labelled Advertisement and kept separate from the editorial text. If you would like to advertise, choose "Advertising enquiry" in the form and tell us who you are, what you would like to promote and which pages or months you have in mind. Advertising does not buy a mention, a link or a change to any page; the about page sets out the policy in full.

What we cannot help with

  • Booking food tours, classes, tables or transport. The guide does not sell or arrange anything.
  • Recommending, ranking or reviewing named stalls or restaurants.
  • Disputes with a vendor or restaurant. For a serious overcharging case, local police and the tourism authorities have handled complaints; your hotel can help you contact them.
  • Medical emergencies. In Vietnam, dial 115 for an ambulance, and contact your insurer and your embassy.

How replies work

We read every message. If yours needs an answer, we reply by email to the address you gave. We do not promise a reply time, because checking a correction against a source can take longer than writing a reply. If it is a correction, you will see the change on the page, and significant changes are recorded in the corrections log on the about page.

The privacy page lists exactly which fields the form collects and what happens to them.

Common questions

Questions readers ask

How quickly do you reply?

We reply by email when a message needs an answer. Corrections are checked against a source before a page changes, which can take longer than a reply, so we do not promise a time.

Can I phone the editors?

No phone number is published. Use the form or email info@streetfoodvietnam.com.

Can you recommend a stall for me?

No. The guide does not recommend named stalls, but it can tell you what kind of place sells a dish, when, and what it should cost.
